Springfield Care Home Care Home Services In Nottingham

Enthused by the recent involvement in Dementia awareness programmes, the Management team are embracing changes in the delivery of care to people with Dementia. They are looking at ways of changing not only care practices but their whole ethos of care through the C.A.R. (Communication, Attitudes and responses) approach to Dementia care. This requires staff to consider the person with Dementia more holistically, changing the way they interact with the person. Key to this is enabling people to cope with their Dementia and changes to the environment can help with this. It is with this in mind that the Registered Provider recently enlisted the help of a local artist to help paint murals in strategic places throughout the Home. Another project is the creation of the sensory garden, involving the Service Users in planning and creation from the beginning; choosing the plants and helping in the potting as well as involving them in the ongoing upkeep of the garden.

To entertain our residents, we provide activities such as: sing-a-longs, karaoke, bingo, dominoes, card games, board games, dancing to music and much more. Residents enjoy reading daily newspapers, books and magazines. We invite many visiting entertainers to the home, whose talents include playing a host of musical instruments, performing songs from famous musicals and taking our residents on a fond trip down memory lane!

We hold open days, clothes sales and fairs throughout the year, celebrate our Residents' birthday and hold Easter, Halloween and Christmas Parties, proving the highlights of the year! Our staff, friends and relatives also take our residents on river cruises and trips to Skegness, amongst other outings.

Springfield Care Home offers a range of personal services such as a visiting hairdresser, chiropody specialist; dentist and optician, with residents own GPs visiting when necessary.

Our core practice is to make an assessment of a prospective Resident's needs prior to their admission, and to develop a care plan with the resident and/or their relatives, designed to enable them to lead a fulfilled life of their choice.

The home keeps an 'open-house', and encourages friends and relatives to visit.

The home has adopted a Residents' Charter of Rights. The Company's philosophy is based upon the belief that all Residents are entitled to be treated as individuals. This is achieved by the needs of all Residents being assessed, and from this information, individual Care Plans are developed. Whilst it requires the staff of the Home to operate the procedures laid out in the Home's Manual for the safe delivery of the service, this does not institutionalise care. Our Care Philosophy promotes a warm and respectful rapport between Residents, relatives and staff.
